VMI Le Hoang Phu Award

General purpose:
Rev. Dr. Le Hoang Phu (1926-2003), a founding member and first Board Chair of Vietnam Ministries Inc., was a respected scholar in the global Vietnamese Christian community. In honor of his legacy, the VMI Le Hoang Phu Award was established in 2019 to celebrate faithful service and inspire future generations to advance the Gospel.
The award honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding Christian service---advancing the Gospel, leading with humility, mentoring others, and faithfully serving in discipleship, missions, and community outreach among the Vietnamese community in the U.S. and abroad.
The Award:
The award includes a $1,000 prize and a plaque. VMI will also provide up to $500 to support the recipient’s travel expenses to attend the award ceremony.
Qualifications & Nominations:
Any qualified individual may serve as a nominator. The nominator must provide detailed information about the nominee (i.e., activities, ministries, education) and obtain at least two references who can assess and evaluate the nominee's contributions.
Self-nominations are not allowed. Current VMI Board members and staff are ineligible to serve as nominators.
The nomination package must include:
A half-page biography of the nominee
Up to two pages summarizing the nominee’s accomplishments
At least two letters of reference from individuals familiar with the nominee.
Please provide a brief explanation of why the nominee’s contributions stand out and deserve this award.
